Our library provides a social space to meet, collaborate, research, learn, share, and relax. The staff work to develop a reading culture and raise the levels of information literacy across the school by leading students through processes which empower them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers and skillful, efficient and discerning researchers.
The Oliver library management system, together with the ACEN digital library provide 24/7 access to a wealth of authentic, authoritative, age appropriate resources to specifically meet student and staff needs.
Resources include fiction and non-fiction books, ebooks, audiobooks, videos, journals, encyclopaedias, articles, websites, learning objects, CDs and DVDs.
Enrichment opportunities exist for students to further extend their Robotics and Coding learning managed by a talented, qualified librarian. Robotics opportunities include Mindstorms, Bbots, EV3’s and Sphero’s. Holiday reading is encouraged through the use of ebooks. The library is equipped with laptops, Ipads 1:1 that complement individual students learning styles; providing opportunities for enquiry learning.
We host annual Book Week celebrations and other exciting reading initiatives throughout the year at St Therese’s Catholic Primary School Lakemba to promote a love of reading and the acquisition of strong literacy skills.
